De Young Properties hosted a ribbon cutting to unveil the 2011 Central Valley St. Jude Dream Home.  Built by major donor De Young Properties, the 2,019 sq. ft. home in a prime northeast Fresno location in the De Young Chestnut Grove community will be offered as the first place prize to raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to fight cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases.

Tickets are now available for the November giveaway of the 2011 St. Jude Dream Home -- get your tickets early, only 10,000 are available and we have sold out before.  The goal is to raise $1,000,000 to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which works around the clock to develop cures to save the lives of boys and girls, including children in the San Joaquin Valley. One hundred percent of the proceeds of the give away are donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Now building their fifth St. Jude Dream Home, De Young Properties has successfully raised over $3.4 million for the hospital to date.  De Young Properties combines their contribution and efforts with the generous help of trade partners such as Robert Champagne Landscaping, 84 Lumber and John Mastro Plumbing who also donate their time, labor and resources to build a quality crafted home.

“We strongly believe in our responsibility to help others. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital positively affects the lives of families across the country, in addition to giving us the opportunity to change the life of the winning family,” said Ashley De Young of De Young Properties. “This amazing pediatric treatment and research center, not only treats life threatening cases in children, but also openly shares their research with doctors and scientists around the world and here in the Central Valley.”

The 2011 St. Jude Dream Home will be a part of the award-winning Clovis schools district and offers three bedrooms, a formal dining room, a three car garage and an open-air courtyard. The winner’s dreams will come true with the home’s long list of special features, including three clean-air gas fireplaces, a gourmet kitchen with granite kitchen counters and stainless steel General Electric appliances with a 5-burner gas cook top and refrigerator. In addition, the home offers premium-grade 18-inch tile floors, spacious 10’ ceilings and 8’ interior doors, professional front and back yard landscaping and durable concrete tile roofs.

The St. Jude Dream Home is designed to be a Net Zero EnergySmart™ home. The combination of the state-of-the-art De Young EnergySmart™ home with the power of solar is designed to reduce annual electricity cost to zero. In addition, the EnergySmart™ home is also GreenPoint Rated, Energy Star certified and built to the tough California Advanced Homes Program Tier 2 standards for assurance that it is healthier to live in and saves the winning family money on their electricity bill.
